Activate ladies 2

TAVISTOCK were host to top of the league Activate this week.

The game started slowly but soon began to pick up with some great play from both sides.

Tavistock conceded two goals in the first half with one being disallowed due to an offside call. The home side were strong but could not make their efforts count. Great runs down the left wing were made by Tavistock's Kirsty Jones and striker Sarah Martin worked hard against the Activate defence.

The second half was mainly controlled by the home side with some great teamwork which made them the better team. Special efforts by Robyn Hammond, Becky McMullin and Donna Weeks with great passing and working tirelessly to work their way through the Activate defence.

Plenty of opportunities were made to score by Donna Hone, Becky Gordan and Becky Turner, but each time the ball failed to reach the back of the net. Despite this Tavistock remained positive and kept working hard to try and get a goal.

Tavistock's defenders Laura Phillip, Chelsea Starbuck, Carleigh Bammens and Tania Coker worked hard and remained strong to keep their side in the game while Gemma Small worked hard in goal. However, Tavistock conceded a second goal 10 minutes from the end as Activate counter attacked at pace.
