THERE was more competition success for taekwondo martial artist Tavistock's Tate Budge.

Having competed in the UK International Taekwon-do Federation British championships in Cardiff back in October, where Tate a bronze medal in patterns and a silver medal in sparring, he entered the UK ITF English Championships on Sunday in Paignton.

Although the competition was tough and from all over the country Tate bettered his medal haul from Cardiff and left the English Open with bronze in special technique, silver in patterns and gold in sparring - a fantastic achievement.

Tate, aged 13, is a second degree black belt in Taekwon-do and trains with South Coast Martial Arts as well as Tavistock and Callington Martial Arts.

Tate thanks Mr Wood, Mr Burdock , Mr Smith and Debbie Young for their continuing support.
