FOUR teams of six pupils each from Mount House School took part in the annual inter-school cross country races, run in cold but dry conditions at St Petroc's School in Bude.

They competing in four separate categories against 14 other schools from all over Devon and Cornwall.

The U9s boys and U9s girls ran one circuit of the mile-long course, while the U11 boys and U11 girls did two laps.

Every one of the Mount House runners rose to the challenge and successfully completed the course.

Most notable performances came from Lizzie Elderfield, who crossed the finishing line in fourth place in the girls' U9s race, Mickey Spiers (boys' U9s), Pelé Mayle (boys' U11s) and Tess Campbell-Bareham, who finished fifth in the girls' U11s race.
