THE second weekend of the 2016 Devon County Swimming proved equally successful for Mount Kelly Swimming, with swimmers claiming a further three championship titles, six junior champions and 35 age group medals.
Championship titles were won by Julian Chan Quee Lin in the 400 metre individual medley (4.35.92), Lauren Hession in the 200m freestyle (2.06.27) and Ollie Taverner in the 200m breaststroke (2.23.24). Junior champions were Ollie Taverner in the 100m backstroke, 50m breaststroke and 200m breaststroke, Lauren Hession in the 200m freestyle, Jacob Newcombe in the 400m individual medley and Eddie Maddocks in the 200m freestyle. Other championship finalists were Jack Hutchin, Halle Ashworth, Georgina Dennis, Kaylee Dekker, Anna Cutts, Will Luckham-Down, Michael Alcorn and Christy Gold.
Leading the way on medal counts were Jack Plummer and Olivia Lee who both claimed four gold’s and a silver; Julian Chan Quee Lin and Eddie Maddocks both won two gold’s. Other gold medallists were Georgina Dennis, Kiira Geheb and Bella Hodges.
Other medallists were: Sophie Main, Reiss Ormonde-Cunningham, Tegan Lessey, Jack Hutchin, Ollie Taverner, Jake Bentley, Claire Murphy and Elliot Svensson.
Other swimmers who set some exceptional personal best times with many qualifying to the South West regional Championships were: Euan Botham, Jacob Gibbons, Jamie Brew, Tom Harrison, Rebecca Cramp, Alex Dennis, Maia Hawkins, Isabelle Sheil, Amelia Riggott, Charlotte Ray, Annabelle Hess and Nicole Dunn.
