IN division one of the Okehampton Table Tennis league the Mixtures played Tavistock who were far too strong winning all nine singles and the doubles to win 10-0.
The Mixtures played Okehampton A — John Down scored a maximum in singles and joined John Squire to win the doubles in straight sets against Steve Tyler and Martin Rose.
Steve Tyler did well to win two singles for the mixtures playing his first match of the season. Okehampton A won the match 8-2.
In division two Okehampton C were at home against Anchorage B — David Wilson scored his third maximum of the season supported by David Vanstone winning two singles. Frank Cockburn won two for Okehampton, Richard Rose with one singles.
Frank had a hard fought game against Roger Gilbert just winning 11-9 in the fourth leg to keep their hundred percent doubles record going to help Anchorage to a 7-3 win.
The next match saw Horrabridge take on Milton Abbot B who raced into a 6-0 lead before Chloe Greenaway pulled one back for Horrabridge. Ben Evans and Harry Barnaby both scored fine maximums. Ben had to work hard against Dan Bashford just winning 3-2 sets. Harry against Chloe went down to 11-9 11-6 but fought back winning 9-11 4-11 and 10-12. He also had to work hard to beat Gill Northey 11-6 in the fifth leg. Gill also took Ben to five legs, Ben fought back taking the last three.
Dan and Gill beat Ben and Harry in the doubles — Milton Abbot winning the match 8-2.
