Southern two
Plymouth University A 2
Okehampton 3
A DEPLETED travelling Okehampton side gave themselves a late Christmas present by beating a strong University side and moving to top place in the league.
The home side had a first half to forget as the visitors dominated, scoring three goals in the process.
Josh Speak found Parsons and he had a under cut saved but pounced on the rebound to give the away side the lead.
The superb Luke Miller then went on a standard solo run for Oke, found Parsons, who swept the ball into the corner to double the lead. Miller added the third when Speak again played a superb through pass after an excellent run from Simon Bourne to take the defender away, Miller coolly placing the ball beyond the keeper's reach.
Little threat from the hosts was mainly down to some superb tackling from man of the match Jonathan Hobbs making only his second appearance for the first eleven.
The second half saw Oke ease their pressure and although they conceded two goals they always looked in control and that they had more gears to go into if required.
This was a good way to start their second half of their campaign.
n This week Okehampton are at home on Saturday to Truro B at 1pm.
