YVONNE Carpenter-Warren and Chris Anderson from Tavistock Swimming Club were among 600 competitors from across the UK at the Masters National Long Course Swimming Championships, with both coming away with medals. Yvonne swam in six events, coming second in the 50m breaststroke, third in the 100m breaststroke with a personal best time, and fourth in the 200m breaststroke. She also achieved personal best times in the 100m freestyle and 100m backstroke, and finished a busy weekend with a strong performance in the 800m freestyle. Chris competed in all nine freestyle and backstroke events, coming second in the 1,500m freestyle and third in both the 100m and 200m backstroke. He came fourth in the 200m, 400m and 800m freestyle and achieved personal best times in five of his events. Both Yvonne and Chris train with Tavistock Swimming Club at Meadowlands Pool. The club will be sending a larger team to compete in individual and relay events at the Devon, South West and National Short Course Championships which take place during the autumn.
