Lewdown v Tavistock
Tavistock, having won the toss, found themselves in trouble at 31-3 after nine overs.
Lewdown's South African bowler Marco Marias took the wickets of Aaron Churchill, Rhys Davies and Sean Cleave for 21 runs. This brought Dave Manning and Tim Pope together for a stand of 58 until the latter was caught by Marias off the bowling of Gary Sizmur for 19.
Shaun Daymond joined Manning for the next 20 overs with a partnership of 126; Manning making 87 (12 fours and a six) and Daymond 71 (nine fours, two sixes) – taking the score to 205.
Tavistock battled out the 45 overs losing another four wickets for a total of 228-9. Charlie Hughes took 4-31 and Marco Marias 3-30 were the pick of the bowlers.
The home side made a steady start but lost Dave Ball in the third over to a direct run out by James McGahey. Lewdown captain Harry Geering joined Gary Sizmur at the crease and they made a partnership of 42 until Cleave dismissed Geering for 26, caught by Churchill while James McGahey bowled Sizmur for 32.
Phil Yeo made 25 runs off 20 balls, including two sixes and two fours until he was caught and bowled by Daymond. Lewdown ended on 139 all out as Tavistock won by 89 runs. Cleave took 2-29, Jamie Stephens 2-7 and Daymond 4-33.
