EIGHTEEN pupils from Lew Trenchard School travelled up to Bude earlier this month to take part in the annual Lifeboat Run. The pupils ran one mile and were among 150 running in the event. It was a glorious summer evening and everyone had a marvellous time. In addition to the pupils, three members of staff ran the 10km adult race in a large field of 300 runners. Best Lew Trenchard School result went to Holly Cole who won the girls U7s race and picked up a lovely trophy. Her Dad, Jimmy Cole could only finish second in the adult race so was upstaged by his daughter! Josh Craddock came a splendid 13th in the children's mile race despite being only aged 9 in a race that included 13 year-olds. Josh was fourth in the under 11 category and he will continue to improve now that he has joined the Tavistock Athletic Club.  All 18 of the pupils proudly finished the race and are pictured with their medals at the finish of the race at Bude Rugby Club.
