WEST Devon A continued their late superb run of results in the Tavistock Snooker League with a 4-1 win over West Devon C to keep the pressure on Con A at the top of the table, with the gap now only a slender one point.

Kevin Rich was in no mood to hang around as he breezed past Elliott with a 26 break on the way to put the A team one up. Morris made it 2-0 with another assured display against the dangerous Pinkney.

It was 3-0 with Emptage taking out the lively Roger Shrimpton in a close call. Next on Hodge bounced back from last week's reversal to stop the 'one way traffic' to secure a frame for the WD C in a tight 'black ball' finish against Taylor. The final frame was a one sided affair as last week's 'potting machine' Hart was unable to replicate the same form as Heathman waltzed past him with consummate ease.

The scene is now set for an exciting final night of the season with both Con A and West Devon A playing their final games next week.

Conservative C provided the shock of the evening with a rare victory over West Devon D.

First game of the evening saw Roffey for Con Cs having a rather scrappy frame against WD D's Decieco who was not his usual self leading to Roffey coming out the winner.

West Devon were soon level as the Con's Angie Ward, who stepped in at the last minute, provided potting practice for Paul Shrimpton.

Captain Clive Jago nearly made it past the post against the dangerous Murton with a cautious game of nip and tuck but an easily missed pink proved fatal, letting Murton in and thus denying Jago his first win of the season.

Neal was then at the disposal of May who came back fighting down to the black but a grateful Neal eventually won due to a mistake from May on that black. Jago (junior) had a walkover and a 3-2 win for the Con C a rare, but welcome victory.
