TAVISTOCK have given themselves a fighting chance of avoiding relegation with this spirited display against a team two places above them.

Despite tries by Luke Northmore and Adam Williams, the red and blacks found themselves 10-11 down with minutes to go. However, the Lacemen conceded a penalty for offside and up stepped Northmore to cooly slot it home and give a vital victory to the home side.

With three going down on Saturday Tavistock are away to Hayle for what could turn out to be a relegation decider.
