TAVISTOCK started well with the urgency they needed, putting immediate pressure on the opposition.

It did not take Tavistock long to open up the score and take a 1-0 lead against the Tiverton side with a clean strike from Armstrong from the edge of the D.

With the home side on a high they soon scored again, as Erin Shillaw hit a first for the club on her debut game, following a rebound from a short corner. Tavistock’s constant pressure resulted in a third goal when captain Scott converted a penalty flick following a defensive foot on the line to make it 3-0 at half-time.

The back line of Colston, Mills-Hicks, Pollock and Boulle were proving a tough line to crack; but on the odd occasion the visitors broke through keeper Viggers was out quickly to deny Eagles from scoring a consolation goal.

Tavistock kept control throughout the second half. They saw another attacking opportunity following some great linking from forwards Lamb and Lindsay which set Armstrong up with her second taken nicely, following a reverse stick.
