Okehampton ladies seconds 1

Teign ladies thirds 1

THE game started well for Okehampton. Viv Weatherington worked tirelessly to make drives in to the Teign defence and create chances for Rachel Adams and Annebelle Rademaker.

Although Teign's strikers posed no threat to the Okehampton defensive quartet of captain Rochelle Hillier, Sandy Douglas, Debbie Pritchard and Ailsa Gibb, the home side's midfield made some challenging surges from deep within their own half to threaten the calm of Oke.

Teign, although having had a goal disallowed seconds before the half time whistle, were much in control for a time.

However, Okehampton re-emerged, encouraged by their captain and Sandy Douglas, strong and focused and begun to apply the pressure to Teign.  Oke's Alex Collins had several shots at the goal, all of which were denied by Teign's confident goalie. Lottie Rademaker set up plenty of chances for Oke to score and it all seemed positive for the home team. However, in a lapse of concentration, Okehampton conceded a goal which trickled over the goal line.

Oke though did not relent, spurred on by their captain. Ailsa one handedly beguiled Teign's defence and supplied a snappy cross to Annebelle, who tucked away a well earned equaliser for Oke.
