DAME Kelly Holmes and a team of professional athletes joined some of Britain's leading companies at the 2013 UK Challenge, as they went head to head in a series of mental and physical challenges.
The event, which took place over three days on Dartmoor, saw 50 companies including Sainsbury's, Heineken, the RAF, AWE, Nestle, T Systems, HP, Barclays Capital and Nedbank take on the challenge and raise money for the Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust, charity partner of the event. The event required teams to complete six themed stages which require them to strategise, collaborate and work together as a cohesive team unit.
Stage two of the UK challenge took place at Roadford Lake. Dame Kelly Holmes, double Olympic champion and founder of the official charity, took part alongside a team made up of professional sports men and women. Her team mates included Olympic swimmer Ross Davenport, 2008 Olympic high jump finalist Martyn Bernard, hockey player Charlotte Hartley and rower Tony Garbett. The 'Give Back Team' finished 36th out of 50.
