Okehampton U16s 34

Plymstock U16s 12

FROM the kick-off Okehampton pinned Plymstock back in their 22 and were rewarded when Jake Shinn went over for a score inside the first five minutes.

Debutant George Whitmarsh scored the next try to complete a rumbling forward move that started back on the half way line. Okehampton playing down the slope continued to press throughout the half. Another score went in courtesy of Reece Peacock, who simply battered his way through Plymstock's defence to run in a try adjacent the posts. Jacob Horn converted.

On a very rare foray into Okehampton's half Plymstock charged down a clearance kick, and the disarray in Okehampton's defence allowed Plymstock to rumble over for a score.

Okehampton finished the half with Luke and Jake Shinn linking up on a run from just inside their half with Jake finishing it off with a second try of the day for him in the corner to make it 22-5 to Oke at half-time.

The second half saw Oke further capitalise on Plymstock's defensive weaknesses with a cross field kick from Tallun Burns that was collected by Brandon Horn for another try. Jacob Horn again adding the extra points.

Burns tried the same move again a little later in the half, this time chasing down the kick himself before passing to Reece Peacock to finish off the move under the posts. Burns added the extra points.

Plymstock finished with a score on the final whistle.

Tavistock U15s 60

Totnes U15s 10

IN this friendly match, Tavistock started brightly with the ball moving to full back Ben Milligan who scored in the corner in the first five minutes. The strong Totnes pack were in no mood to roll over and soon secured possession, which led to an equalising score.

Tavistock spluttered a bit in the first 20 minutes and struggled to break down a feisty Totnes side. Johnny Williams made the break through running in a try from just outside his own half. Chris Watts, who gave another assured performance at fly half, added a third before the break picking up the ball smartly at the base of a ruck and darting in to score.

The second half saw Tavistock play a bit more of a pick and go type game with Ben Luke and Chris Abbott leading the charge. This drew in defenders and space was created for Ben Milligan to score under the posts.

Totnes did not give up and their determination earned them a second try. Harry Jeans and Scott Morris showed up more in the second half making tackles and taking the ball forward for Tavistock. While George Murrin showed his versatility and passing skills at scrum half before James Lewis raced in for a score after some more neat handling from Chris Watts.

Ben Milligan completed his third hat-trick of the season before Cameron McKie scored a blistering try running the length of the pitch after catching the kick off. George Hillson weighed in with two scores before Ethan Lamerton finished proceedings with a sprint down the blindside. Chris Watts added five conversions.
