THE race is on for the Sport Relief Bere Pen Mile and the organisers, the Bere Alston Trekkers, are inviting people of all ages to join in the fun and games and dig out their running kit. 

The Sainsbury Sport Relief Mile takes place on Sunday, March 23 and runners will set off from the Bere Alston recreation field. Super sprinters and willing walkers will all feel at home with a choice of one, three or six miles.

The event will raise sponsorship to help transform the lives of people living here in the UK and in some of the world's poorest countries, while being part of an incredible nationwide event.

BAT Dotty King said: 'Come on everyone what are you waiting for! Last time the Bere Pen Mile had more than 70 participants, and this time we want even more of you to get involved to get that total even higher!

'There will be a distance for everyone on what looks set to be a great day, so don't forget to rope in your mates, family, boyfriend, girlfriend and colleagues too and get training!'
