THE Devon Games to Inspire took place in Okehampton with more than 1,200 youngters taking part. Teams from eight local authorities took part, competing in a variety of sports. 

The West Devon Triathlon squad claimed three golds and one bronze in the team and individual events. Winning gold the yr 9/10  team were Pete Jarman, Joshua Blake, Megan Groom and Yasmin Steven, all members of Tavistock Athletic Club.

In the individual event Pete Jarman won gold in the yr 9/10 boys' triathlon and Megan Groom won gold in the yr 9/10 girls' triathlon.

The yr 7/8 team William Aveyard, Richard Skull, Georgina Close and Selina Radford won bronze.

The year 5/6 team Jack Rutley, James Close, Molly Marvin and Zoe Curtis came fourth, narrowly missing out on bronze. 

Thanks were expressed to the coach, Dave Rickwood, who trained the teams at Parklands, Okehampton.
