TAVISTOCK Company of Archers twinning weekend saw the arrival of 15 archers from its twinned club of Pontivy in France.

This year marked the 15th anniversary of the event and was marked by a special weekend.

On the Saturday visits were made to the Dingles steam village, to the Hospice Southwest food fair and Roadford Reservoir.

On Sunday a testing 3D archery course had been laid out in the superb grounds of Mount House School. Chairman Mike Charlesworth welcomed the guests and along with Pontivy Archers president Jean Yves Boscher, thanked Tavistock for hosting them once again.

The junior archers came to the rescue of the club and shot incredibly well to give Tavistock a slender win by a few hundred points..

Jean Yves Boscher thanked Tavistock for hosting a superb shoot and that for two clubs to be twinning for 15 years was truly amazing and hoped it would continue for many more years to come.

The weekend was rounded off by a meal at the Terrace restaurant where Jean Yves Boscher invited Tavistock to Pontivy in 2013 and looked forward to another exciting competition.

TCA chairman Mike Charlesworth presented the Pontivy president with a new sign of the Tavistock club logo to be displayed on the outside of Pontivy's indoor shooting range and Lez James presented them with a marble plaque to be placed inside their club house and the club presented the hosts with montage of photo's designed by Nigel Cammann.
