IN division two of the Okehampton and District Table Tennis League, Horrabridge were at home against Walkhampton.

Horrabridge raced into a 3-0 lead, and Dan Bashford narrowly beat Ben Edmunds. Chloe Greenaway beat Chris Jackson and Bob Newcombe had to work hard to beat Joe Egan 3-2. Ben Edmunds pulled one back for Walkhampton, just beating Chloe 13-11 in the fourth leg.

Horrabridge stepped up a gear to win the next three for a 6-1 lead. Ben won the next for 6-2. Dan Bashford completed a fine maximum against Chris and joined Chloe to beat Ben and Chris in the doubles for a convincing 8-2 win for Horrabridge.

Moretonhampstead were then at home against Okehampton B. Ken Underhill put Moretonhampstead 1-0 ahead against Mark Ralph.

Paul Brodey just lost out to Maureen Venton in a hard fought five leg set. Maureen won 3-2. Dick Randell won the next against Richard Underhill to put Okehampton 2-1 ahead, then Paul beat Mark to level 2-2. Ken won the next against Dick but Maureen made it 3-3 against Richard. Dick beat Paul in the next and Richard beat Mark to level at 4-4. Ken won the last singles against Maureen to put Moretonhampstead 5-4 up. But Maureen and Dick beat Ken and Paul in the doubles for a 5-5 draw.

The last match Anchorage B were at home against Okehampton. Roger Gilbert put Anchorage ahead against Ben Bolton. Dave Wilson won the next against Richard Ross 14-12. In the third leg Frank Cockburn pulled one back for Okehampton against Dave Vanstone. Frank won his second in the fifth set against Roger in some long rallies. Roger did well to win the first two legs 11-6, 11-6. Frank taking the next three 7-11, 5-11 and 7-11 and completed another fine maximum against Dave Wilson to make the score 4-3 to Anchorage. Dave Vanstone won the next against Ben. In the last singles Roger lost to Richard Rose 5-4, and joined Frank in the doubles beating Roger and Dave Wilson in four legs for a 5-5 draw.
