LONG distance runner Adam Holland has been working hard at a special training camp in the Canary Islands.

He also came away with double first places in races he took part in.

Adam, from Tavistock, pounded the island of Lanzarote to cover just over 108miles in the week.

He told th Times: 'I took part in the 10k and half marathon when i was there and won both. I was very happy with my times for the 10k in 33 minutes 54 seconds the the half marathon in 1.14.17sec.'

It was also a great way to celebrate Adam's 25th birthday. The Tavistock Athletic Club runner thanked Val and David Chauter for helping him with his training.
