THE annual Tavistock Hockey Club presentation night was held at the town's Terrace Restaurant last Friday.
Although this had been a challenging season in some respects, with the mens' sides struggling in respective divisions, the ladies first XI won promotion with a dominant display throughout, well led by captain Laura Armstrong.
The juniors development was praise by chairman Dave Anning. Under the guidance of Nicky Sellers, more than 70 juniors now take part and the club enjoyed a very successful season and won high rankings in most of the Plymouth area competitions.
A great evening was enjoyed by all.
It is also running mixed hockey sides during the summer, which will play in the Plymouth and District leagues. This is a great way for new and potential players to get to know the club and enjoy a game on a warm summers evening.
Rush hockey will be played during the evenings at Tavistock College in the indoor sports hall. Starting date and timings are to be confirmed. This is a good fun, fast and furious way for players keep their eye in and your fitness levels up.
The club's annual meeting will be held at The Union Inn, Tavistock on Thursday May 9, at 7.30pm.
