TAVISTOCK Hire started brightly in an even first 20 minutes. However defender Steve Fowler, on the edge of the area underhit his pass back to the goalkeeper which allowed the Falcons striker to tap into an empty net.

With a couple of minutes until half time Tavi Hire should have equalised when Dave Wilkinson hit the bar from five yards out after being set up by Will Pike.

The second half started with Tavi Hire dominating play and missing chance after chance. They were then made to pay as Falcons broke away and scored a second with only 11 minutes remaining.

Tavi Hire, however, did not give up and scored straight after the re-start when a corner from Will Pike was headed in by Dan Behanna. The visitors pushed for an equaliser and with only three mins left Des Newton shot from the edge of the area which a Falcons defender stopped with his hand. Des Newton stepped up to calmly slide the penalty kick into the corner to earn Tavi Hire a deserved point.
