TAVISTOCK Hire continued their bad run with a defeat in this round one cup match.

Hire started slowly and were 2-0 down within 15 minutes. Olly Elsey fouled a Hope player in the box and a penalty was awarded but was shot wide. Tavistock Hire came back when Mark Norman ran on to a through ball from Will Pike and beat the keeper to the ball to make it 2-1 but in the resulting collision ended up with a fractured nose.

The Hire defence, led by John Francis, held strong and were kept in the game by a fine save by Shaun Moloney. Hope pushed forward but could not find the net. However with 10 minutes remaining Hire became tired and let the game slip away with four goals being conceded.
