TAVISTOCK athletes Jason Shipton, Jess Williams and Tracy Ann Cole took on the solo 24 hour challenge race called the Hope24 at the weekend. Hope is a UK charity that works towards children's rights.
The offroad race was held in Newnham Park, Plympton and involved runners going around a five mile, hilly wooded loop course as many times as possible in the 24 hour period. Competitors camped on site and were allowed to take as much rest as required throughout the period.
Jess Williams completed an amazing 75 miles in the time, Jason completed 65 miles (beating his total of 55 miles from last year) and Tracy Ann, making her ultra debut completed a superb 55 miles.
