TAVISTOCK gymnast Ruby Stacey gained gold in Wiltshire to become the South West espoir champion.

The 12 year-old, travelled to Melksham to compete in the South West age group gymnastics com-petition. 

Performing new, higher level skills for the first time, she won gold medals on floor, bars and vault and a silver medal on the beam.

Ruby’s routines won her the overall competition where she received the South West Espoir Champion trophy.

This competition was a selection process for the Inter-national Rushmoor Rosebowl competition in Aldershot which is being held this month.  Ruby was successful in gaining a place on the South West team.  

She has qualified to enter the British Championships in Surrey where she will compete against the highest level gymnasts in her age in the U.K.
