THE first Buckland Bounder run took place during an especially warm afternoon at the Buckland Monachorum Summer fair on Saturday.
A field of 44 runners all completed the scenic six mile route which included Roborough Down, the Drake Trail at Gem Bridge and Double Waters.
The winner was Alex Peyton Jones of Plymouth Harriers finishing in 39 minutes 41 seconds, closely followed by Graham Bale of Plymstock Road runners in 39.46, who was also won male veteran. Third place went to Ed Hands who completed the course in 40.28, who also took the Drake Manor Shield for the fastest local runner. Other prize winners were Joanna Coldren, female veteran in 57.20 Ami Yetton of Plymouth Harriers, fastest female 46.20 mins and junior male was won by David Farmer who finished in 45.43 mins.
