Tavistock opened their season in a training fixture against Liskeard Looe, with a new captain, Chloe Dawe.

With seven players from last year's county winning team, Tavistock started strongly and were soon four tries up with Ellie Mills, Alice Mills Hicks, Rosie Crosby and Lily Mills all crossing the line.

Liskeard were not able to cope with the quick hands of Ellie, Tilly. Mya and Tara, and the aggressive defence of Chloe, Katherine, Lily, Rosie and Alice.

At half time, the teams were swapped around with Ellie, Alice and Rosie now guesting for the opposition.

In the second half, the match was much closer and Alice and Rosie both scoring for Liskeard, as did Ella, a debutante for Liskeard.

For Tavistock, Lily M scored three tries and three conversions, and Mya, Katherine and Tara, all had some excellent runs. Tougher tests will follow, but this was an encouraging start of the year.
