THE season continues apace at Tavistock Golf Club.  In the  men veterans’ Jim Spackman Trophy competition David Willans scored 38 points in division one. Second was Chris Morley with 36pts on count back from Dave Burge. 

Dan Pratley, was first in division two, scored a great score of 42pts to win the trophy.  Second in the division was Rick Read 36pts on count back from John Thewlis.  

Topping division one in the Whitsun Bowl Trophy event was Dave Treble with a nett 66; second was Will Caulfield, nett 69, and third Steve Dickinson nett 71. 

Rob Score was first in division one with a nett 66, second Phil Hobbs, nett 69, on count back from Mike Allen.  The winner of the trophy was Ron Score on count back from Dave Treble.

The ladies’ Express and Echo Foursomes was played in a strong wind.  The winners were Jenny Kay and Sue Pratley with 33pts and runners up were Carolyn Crawford and Marion Stenhouse.  They will represent Tavistock in the finals at Exeter in September.

In the Dartmoor Foursomes, held over the Bank Holiday weekend, the Tavistock pair, George and Nicky Gawman, had the only two of the day winning more than £200 worth of Titleist ProVI’s — Nicky hold the putts!
