TAVISTOCK Golf Club Ladies had a winning day at the Devon County Ladies’ Golf Association South and West Foursomes held at Yelverton. 

Three Tavistock pairs took the top three prizes. In first place was Fran Horton and Belinda McSherry with 37 points on count back from Bev Ruth and Nicky Gawman and with 35pts  Donna Cann and Lynn Swift.  It was a successful day for Tavistock.

Thirty teams took part in the popular ladies Delaney Texas Scramble team event.  Top of the score board was the Tavistock team Belinda McSherry, Dawn Phillott and Hilary Picton with a nett 65.4.  Sarah Martin, Hilda Mckinley and Dee Peake (St Mellion) were second with 67.6 while in third place were Vida Appleton, Irene Bessell and Wendy Collins (Launceston/Oke-hampton) on 69.6. With 70.2 were Caroline Johns, Susan Jolly and Sally Villette (Staddon) Tavistock’s Nicky Gawman, Bev Ruth and Elise Williams took fifth place with 70.4 and in sixth place with 70.6 Liz Collier, Jenny Kay and June Kendal (Staddon/Tavistock).
