The recent wet and windy weather has meant that many fixtures have been postponed.
The men’s John Morris trophy medal did go ahead and produced excellent scoring.
Top of the leader board was Rod Hillman with a nett 67 on count back from Daniel Whitehurst. In third place Jonathan Behennah with nett 69. With a net 70 Nick Mier took fourth place on count back from Stewart Evans.
In the men veterans’ Ken Kendall Trophy Colin Rogers scored an excellent net 68 to take the trophy.
Second was Paul Mace with nett 74 on count back from Rick Harrison; fourth place went to Rick Read with nett 75 on count back from Mike Beveridge and Angus McPhie.
The shot of the day was Chris Dicker with a hole in one on the seventh.
Twenty four ladies braved the elements in the monthly stableford. In division one Maggie Hillman scored 37 pts on count back from Belinda McSherry, third Dawn Dennis with 35 pts. Marion Stenhouse topped division 2 with 35 pts, second Janet Kiely 25 pts, third Patty Congo 13 pts. First in division 3 Helen Heywood 26 pts, second Joy Tynan 23 pts, third Val Facey 20 pts.
In the ladies’ Foursomes Cup Jenny Kay and Barbara Porter took the honours with nett 76. Runners up with nett 79 Sally Hills and Sue Coles.
Always a competitive event is the match between the men veterans and lady veterans for the Thewlis Trophy.
Despite matches going to the 18th hole the ladies lost 5 and 3 but, as always, it was a fun day.
