THEY have done it again!  Tavistock Golf Club Juniors have added to this year’s many achievements by winning the Henry Truscott Trophy to become Devon Junior champions.   

Played at Dawlish Warren Golf Club, Tavistock represented West Devon and succeeded in beating the winning league teams from north, south and east Devon.   

In the combined team event their victory has ended an incredible and highly successful season for Tavistock Juniors in this, the club’s 125 anniversary year. 

In the men’s N Chinn Stableford, first in division one was Sam Hurdwell on 42 points; second Dan Harris, 41pts, on count back from Will Caulfield.  Adrian Beer with 43pts was first in division two; second, Marc Ninnis, on 40pts on countback Gareth George, Patrick McMahon and Richard Rowe. 

In division three Richard Jones scored 40pts; second was Lee Bartlett 38pts on count back from Tommy Rawlinson.

The ladies’ medal was played in conjunction with the Elaine Cooper Trophy for players with handicaps below 19.

This year’s winner with the excellent score of net 70 was Dawn Phillott, who was also first in division one; runner up and second in the division  was Jayne Wright with net 74, third Maggie Hillman net 75. 

First in division two was Carolyn Crawford, net 76; second, Sue Pratley, net 77, and third was Rosemary Rea with a net 80.
