Second with 44pts were David and Liz Collier from Elfordleigh on count back from the Tavistock pair Fran and Graham Horton. Fran and Graham won the Betty Young Trophy for the best Tavistock pair; best visitor team not in top six Vaughan Sercombe (Dainton Park) and Jackie Veale (Stover) with 37pts; Men’s nearest pin on the seventh, Brian Riordan; ladies’ nearest the pin on the seventh, Liz Collier.
In the Roland Bailey Trophy event Dave and Peggy Burge took the honours with 44pts closely followed by runners up Mike and Sue Coles with 43pts.
In the ladies’ Challenge Bowl (36 hole medal played over two days) Gilly Jarvis won the Pat Turnbull Trophy for the best gross score with 157 gross on count back from Kayleigh Cann.
Winner of the Challenge Bowl for the best net score was Nicky Gawman with a nett 146. The ladies also played the qualifying round in the Coronation Foursomes which was won by Kayleigh Cann and Donna Gage with 38pts. The final is for the top 100 players and is played at the Isle of Purbeck, Dorset next month.
