THE first mid-week Stableford for a month was held at Yelverton Golf Club this week.

In all 18 competitors took part and given the wintry conditions, some good scores were returned. Results: 1, S Bazneh 38 points; 2, SJ Seward 35pts; 3, A Prater 34pts.

This week Noel Preston-Jones teed off to become this year’s veterans’ captain at Yelverton Golf Club.

Following the captain’s tradition of driving off the first tee the veteran’s section held a best two scores from three competition in which 52 competitors took place.

Results: 1, John Friend, Nick Ring and Graham Steen 87pts; 2, Roger Mechan, Jon Pearn an Peter Wright 85pts; 3, Tim Douglas-Riley, Colin Morris and Dennis Voisin 78pts.

Nathan Keers became the latest in junior award winners by securing the So Yeon Ryu award for December showing dedication and commitment to golf and the junior section.

Golf Access held its first session of 2019 with a junior short course competition at Yelverton Golf Club. Although Golf Access is for all this junior session was well attended with some achieving their next handicap goal but all having great fun.
