ON Saturday the ever popular ‘Captain’s Day’ was hosted at Okehampton Golf Club by the 2019 club captain Simon Taylor.

A large field entered a four ball Texas Scramble competition with various spot prizes to be won along the round and a welcome halfway house.

The overall winners were Lee Carey, Toby Gostling, Paul Prouse and Ian Moore with nett 50.5; in second place were Phil Burley, Frances Harbron, Henry Harbron and Paul Douglas with 52.7, Mike Hern, Paul Ayris, Paul Fewings and Keith Lee were third with nett 53.5 and the best mixed prize was won by Bob and Marcia Collett, Ian Drayner and Michelle Widdows.

The Devon County Veterans’ Ladies Golf Association county foursomes competition for the Flitch Vase was this year held at Royal North Devon Golf Club and the winners with a fantastic 46 points were David and Sue Stanbury from Okehampton.
