DESPITE the wet and windy weather the last of the  Christmas competitions were finally played at Tavistock Golf Club.

Both days of the men’s Bottle Trot were well supported.  Neil Tamblin topped division one on the first day with a score of 37 points on count back from Danny Brockington and Graham Ruth, fourth place David Johns with 36pts. 

In division two first with 40pts Ray Barnes, second Andy Down on 39 pts and third Nick Notley on 38pts. 

On the second day of the competition Patrick McMahon was first in division one with 44pts, second Chris Morley 43pts and, in third place Rob Lovell with 40pts on count back from Doug Littlejohns.   First in division two with 39pts Paul Congo, second Keith Stenhouse 35pts and third Jason Allen with 34pts on count back from John Hopkins and Angus McPhie.

The postponed ladies’ Poultry Stableford was finally played, much to the relief of captain Janet Kiely,  but over 12 holes.  First in division one Nicky Gawman with 24 pts, second Hilary Picton 23 pts and third with 22 pts Donna Cann on count back from Kerry Baker.

Carolyn Crawford was first in division two with 23pts on countback from Marion Stenhouse.  June Kendall took third place with 21pts on count back from Sybil Cole.  First in division three Sally Timpson was 21 pts, second Jenny Roe 20 pts, third Jackie Sealey 18 pts.   The overall winner of the day and winner of the Father Christmas was Nicky Gawman.
