YELVERTON Golf Club’s Caitlin Evans-Brand won the Devon Ladies County Championship at Royal North Devon this week.

The final was played over two days on a challenging course with an extremely strong field. Caitlin’s day one results (36 hole stroke play) resulted in her qualifying for the semi finals on Sunday. This was a well contested match which she won with a birdie on the 18th demonstrating nerves of steel.

Caitlin played Abi Turner (Okehampton) in the afternoon final which she won 3 and 2. Caitlin’s dad Andy acted as caddy.

This victory comes on the back of an excellent finish in last week’s Welsh Open for a rightly proud and delighted Caitlin.
