Tavistock ladies’ firsts 6

Exe ladies’ thirds 1

TAVISTOCK ladies’s first team met Exe thirds for a home fixture on a grey and gristly Saturday morning.

Fast from the start, Tavistock scored their first two goals within the first 10 minutes. The home side were awarded a penalty flick, which Robynne Fenwick placed perfectly into the top right corner of the goal.

Soon after player of the match Emma Passmore charged up the right side of the pitch and swept the ball to Laura Armstrong who scored the second goal. Exe made a lucky few breaks through Tavistock’s defence, but Maddie Jones, the home goalkeeper, prevented any counter-attacks.

Laura Colwill took the ball from defence up the pitch, passed to Amy Headon who manoeuvred the ball around the keeper and pushed the ball into the goal.

In the second half Tavistock’s fourth goal came from a short corner. Alice Lamb received the ball at the top of the D and drag flicked it up and straight into goal. In similar fashion, Hannah Nevin scored her first goal for Tavistock by flicking the ball straight into the net. Becky Lamb scored Tavistock’s final goal in a short corner by deflecting it in from the post.

With one minute to go, Exe were awarded a short corner and scored their first and only goal.
