THE West Devon Team trials for the Devon Games to Inspire 2012 got underway last Friday with the gymnastics trial held at Okehampton College.
The Devon Games to Inspire is a festival bringing together more than 1,200 young people aged 8-16 from all over Devon, to compete against each other and win points for their region. Each region holds an open trial for each event to select the competitors to represent their area on the day.
The prestigious event is to be held in Okehampton on Saturday, June 30 and is being organised by the local sport development charity OCRA. The sports included in this year's event are athletics, badminton, girl's cricket, gymnastics, hockey, mini-soccer, netball, street basketball, street sports (BMX, skateboarding & scooters), table tennis, girls tag rugby, triathlon and volleyball!
