THE annual awards evening for Tavistock Triathlon Club took place on December 14, where club members, family and friends enjoyed a superb evening hosted by Taylors Restaurant in Tavistock.

Club chairperson Hannah Colston said: ’The club has had another incredible year, with all of our members achieving personal goals, for a small club we do incredibly well at both local and national events.’

The 2017 annual award winners were as follows: Female dedication to triathlon, Lindsay Hobbs; male dedication to triathlon, Ollie Beilby. The best all rounder award, 1, Karen McClung, 2, Lindsay Hobbs and Laura Newton.

Club person of the year, as voted by members was Hannah Colston.

A perpetual cup has been donated by Rob and Eunice Moule of RM Builders and Contractors Ltd, in celebration of 25 years in business in 2017. The cup will be awarded to the most improved triathlete over the year. This year the winner is Laura Evenden, who has shown great determination and focus in accomplishing open water triathlon this year, having been completely new to both swimming and cycling.

Rob and Eunice said: ‘A big well done to Laura and we are delighted to support Tavistock Triathlon Club and look forward to seeing great results and the successful devel-opment of triathletes in the future.

TTC congratulates all of the award winners, but most importantly a well done and thank you to the coaching team, committee members who contribute to the club activities.
