THREE months ago the Tavistock Tinners Under 9s football team appeared in the Times wearing their football kit in the pouring rain looking suitably bedraggled and damp.

As a result Langdon Transport of Ivybridge kindly offered to buy 14 rain jackets for the team to keep them dry during training and prior to matches.

Manager Chris Prettejohn told Times Sport: ’This is a great way to support local boys who enjoy sport and keep them dry in one of the wettest places in the UK.  The boys are hugely appreciative of the donation made by Langdon Transport.’

The Tinners are a newly formed team in 2017,  affiliated with Tavistock AFC, and play in the local Devon Junior Minor league.
