Okehampton Argyle reserves recovered from last week’s setback to Sidmouth with this emphatic win over Pinhoe.

Argyle opened the scoring early with Ryan Arthurs scoring from the penalty spot after Steve Madge had been fouled. Shortly after Okehampton doubled their lead when Rhys Mellor Bond was rewarded for his hard work over the past few weeks with a goal from close range.

After the interval Pinhoe threatened Argyle’s supremacy until a break ended in Darren Gilbert scoring his fourth in two games. Okehampton then dominated the rest of the encounter with goals from Connor Mills, Steve Madge and a second for both Gilbert and Arthurs. Oke now head into their final two games before Christmas knowing two wins puts them firmly in the hunt for promotion.

Okehampton Argyle’s first team match at Topsham was cancelled because of the heavy rain.
