Tavistock Ladies 3

TAVISTOCK Ladies started the season on a high with a fantastic 3-0 win over Ilfracombe Ladies.

Becky Turner got Tavistock’s first goal with a diving header which came from a picture perfect cross from Rebecca McMullin.

The Ilfracombe defence were given plenty of problems with some great runs down the wing from Kirsty Jones and Donna Hone and good link-up play with strikers Turner and Robyn Hammond.

The second goal came from Jones, who finished an impressive solo run with a beautiful strike to make it 2-0. Throughout the second half Tavistock continued to create chances, with several of their efforts hitting the woodwork.

Their defence was also solid throughout the match, working well to ensure Ilfracombe did not score. Tavistock keeper Zoe Stock made a great save near the end of the second half to ensure her clean sheet.

The third goal came from Hammond who found the top corner with a great strike.
