ON Saturday a large contingent of Tavistock Athletic Club juniors travelled to Stover School in Newton Abbot to compete in the Devon County Cross Country Championships.

The star performance came from Amelia Riggott who coped well with the muddy conditions to pick up a bronze in the junior girls’ race.

The previous weekend saw a small contingent of juniors take part in the Cornish County Championships. Tilly McDowell picked up a bronze in the Inter girls race whilst Bradley Stevens finished seventh in the senior boys’ race.

With some great racing, the club can expect a number of the team to gain county selection for the South West Schools and English Schools Championships in March.
