AT the annual presentation evening at Tavistock Golf Club members received trophies for their successes achieved throughout the year. 

However, the stars of the evening were the juniors who have had an exceptional year. 

Marc Ninnis and Mike Watkin became junior organisers at the start of the year.

‘We realised that we had the makings of a successful team,’  said Marc ‘but, because the squad were young and  inexperienced, we thought that it would be at least a year or two before we would be seriously competing but to become Devon champions in less than a year is amazing!’ 

Marc thanked club professional Simon Invest for all his work with the juniors and for helping them in achieving their success.

Club captain Tony Cooper praised their efforts and said how proud the club were of their achievements, coming in this the 125th anniversary of the club. 

He added  ‘All the juniors, whether they played in club competitions or matches, are a credit to the club.’
