TAVISTOCK’s very own Son-Rise Cup for Autism football event has flown across the world to Zimbabwe in Africa.

The popular event, which ended last May, has had the chance to start up in another place thanks to African referee Alfred Karakadzai who runs youth football groups in an area near Harare.

The event is planned to take place on November 30 for up to 10 teams including a Plymouth United team.

The Son-Rise committee still continues to support the Tavistock Specials FC and it decided to help the African children and adults by sending football kits, referee equipment, medals and trophies.

Allen Lewis, committee member and co-founder of the Son-Rise Cup, told Times Sport: ‘It’s a great idea to help these amazing people and lovely the Son-Rise story goes on.’
