Caradon ladies 2

Tavistock ladies’ first 2

THE ladies braved some horrendous rain and winds this week to travel to Liskeard.

Soaked to the skin before the game had even begun, the ladies worked hard to motivate themselves to play their game in such poor weather conditions.

Both teams had equal possession in the first half, however, Caradon found an early lead when Tavistock’s concentration lapsed at a penalty corner.

The visitors were not deterred and quickly retaliated when a swift ball across the circle found Donnelly’s reverse stick for a smooth deflection to equalise the score.

Tavistock continued to gain momentum and soon won a penalty corner. A slap in from Scott was saved by the opposition’s keeper, however, Gasper’s fast reactions took Tavistock into the lead with 2-1 at half time.

Both teams suffered with the cruel winds and the game slowed as vision was tainted by the rain.

Tavistock continued to cause pressure on the opposing team’s circle but just could not echo last week’s scoring form.

It was Caradon who scored the next and final goal of the game leaving the ending score a fair, if soggy, 2-2 all draw.
