WITH three goals conceded in the first quarter of this third round match and two penalties either side of half-time, this tie was over before the 50th minute for Chagford.

Oddly enough, Chagford played well in parts but struggled to cope with a young, pacy attack.

Franky Astill-Sheppard and Josh Stanbury pulled a couple of goals back but, when a bodged clearance rebounded off a forward’s back for Alphington’s sixth, it definitely was game over.

CHAGFORD Reserves made a long but fruitless trip to Plymouth for this match, in their longest cup run in recent years.

The feeling was the visitors did not deserve to lose but suffered from a lack of finishing, in front of goal.
