WITH the season now under way Gunnislake top the Duchy Premier League having won their first four matches with an outstanding goal difference of 29 goals. They have also won their two cup games so far.

Gunnislake reserves won their cup game 8-2. It has been a superb start for both teams on the newly refurbished pitch at The Butts Playing Field.

Club secretary Michael Kinger said: ‘Much work has been done at The Butts during the closed season. The pitch has been moved to the top of the field reducing the amount of slope which was encountered before. New team dug outs have been built by Mike and Stuart Wakenshaw along with a new storage shed and kitchen area alongside the pavilion to house  all the equipment.

‘Our thanks to Cornwall FA for help towards the cost of the project and all the other sponsors who advertise on boards around the ground.’
