Plainmoor Ladies 3

OKEHAMPTON Argyle ladies travelled to Plainmoor, Torquay, looking for back to back wins in the league but were second best throughout the game.

Plainmoor started brightly and Oke did not seem to up their game and it was no surprise when the home side took the lead following a corner which was not cleared, allowing their player to smash the ball into the net.

Oke did manage to get a couple of glimpses at goal with the Plainmoor keeper saving well at Shiv’s feet and Marks twice being stopped from getting a shot away when through.

Having made a couple of changes at half time hoping for a bit more bite and urgency to the Argyle team things did not work out this way and Plainmoor continued with their dominance.

The second goal came from a cross into the box with the ball creeping into the bottom corner. Plainmoor’s third soon came when their player had time to pick her spot on the edge of the area and see the ball hit the back of the net.

It was not a day to remember for the girls but as last season they lost 14-1 a 3-0 defeat shows signs that Argyle ladies are moving in the correct direction.
