SATURDAY saw the inaugural Tory Brook 10k, a new event organised by Plymouth Harriers.

Held on the Newnham Estate near Plympton the course took in plenty of hills, river crossings and miles of forest paths in idyllic running weather.

New Tavistock Athletic Club runner Ed Horn had a good run, finishing second overall after attacking the field in the first couple of miles.

Martin Exley-Deane returned to racing after a six month lay off and finished eighth overall and won his age category.

Tony Shearer was next home in 44th but just lost out by 30 seconds to the winner of his age category.
